Thinking like Audrey

Thinking like Audrey

Audrey Hepburn once said: “I have to be alone very often. I’d be quite happy if I spent from Saturday night until Monday morning alone in my apartment. That’s how I refuel.”

Glad to know someone like Audrey felt the same way I do. I think it’s good to learn how to be alone and I think it’s important to know that not all people are extroverts who just love being out with people at parties all the time. It’s ok to like being at home, as long as you also remember to spend time with the people you love, there’s not much else that matters. you don’t need to impress everybody. Be true to yourself.

Thank you for that lesson Audrey.

Chiara Love’s Andrew

The Blonde Salad by Chiara Ferragni is one of the most successful fashion blogs in the world and Italy’s most successful fashion blogs. Chiara is and has always been my most favourite fashion blogger, for a myriad of reasons(I’ll give a more detailed post on this!). The reason I began obsessing over blogs was because of her. She portrayed her life as a student in Milan, as a fashion fairytale parading her closet on the streets of the Italian City of Fashion. I loved watching her, following her on holiday and watching her grow her shoe line. However, her personal life was in the spotlight as well. Her relationship with business partner and longtime boyfriend Riccardo Pozzoli was especially fascinating, since they were soo good together, both on the business side and the relationship side. They were soo cute!!ImageImage

But alas, their six year relationship ended in 2013, to the shock of the fashion community and Chiara’s fans. Don’t worry, she wasn’t heart broken, they remained the closest of friends and shared the news of their breakup on social media, posting matching pictures and text that they had clearly decided on together. Saying that they will remain in each others lives and that they love and respect one another and will remain friends. How sweet!

Sometime in the year 2013 Chiara met Andrew Arthur and fashion fans could gladly watch another love story unfold.

Andrew Arthur is a Los Angeles based photographer and is the true subject of this post.  Since stalking their relationship on instagram and finding some insanely cute and romantic pictures of them I have well and truly fallen for the aesthetic qualities of his photography and his personal style. I also love the fact that they have so far made long distance relationship work. Their street style combined is relaxed, cool, with a rock edge. I am also, amazed at how beautiful and successful their collaborations have been. Andrew Arthur shot the campaign images for her jewellery line CAIA Jewels, which turned out incredible!!

Other collabs include her shoe line with Superga 🙂 Image

Also some blog shots! These were taken in Paris, the City of Love.

They also travel together, last year they went to Vietnam together with their friends. But I mostly just love the way they are together, it’s very understated, laid back and chic (their style that is). And they do love each other very much as Andrew frequently posts pictures of Chiara in support and love for her. It’s so adorable.  Andrew has shot a lot more ad campaigns and photographs for Chiara, but I’d like to focus on them fashionably together. Here we go!

Long live the love birds, may they be happy and prosper.

Black Out Crew-the first photo is my personal favourite, which is yours? They are the epitome of cool!

Lots of love,

Vuyi

Chanel girl

Chanel girl

These are the two Chanel perfumes that I own. I love them both and I got my Chanel No. 5 Christmas 2013. I think I just saw it advertised on enough billboards to decide, without actually smelling it, that it was going to be my new favourite scent. I love Chanel as a brand. I love that Coco Chanel made Chanel No. 5 as her personal perfume. I love that she built the brand from the ground up herself and changed the future of fashion forever. She is truly an inspiration to me and since I’ve been seeing a few more perfumes like the Coco Noir, I think my collection needs to grow, like asap.
There are also so many Chanel beauty products that I am yet to try. I’d love to have some make-up as well. And obviously I would love to one day own a Chanel classic flap bag. This is funny because, this post is called Chanel girl and I’ve only owned 3 Chanel products to date. Wow, call me a dreamer.

I have to go now, my dream life in Paris awaits 😉

Enjoy,
Vuyi
